Spine Slime is name given to the slime-like enemy that Ori encounters in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It is a color between pink and purple, with spines growing out of its purple spots. Spine slimes can be found in Inkwater Marsh, Kwolok's Hollow, and The Wellspring.

Behavior

It will crawl along the ground or any other flat surface, moving back and forth in a pattern and firing three purple glowing projectiles every three seconds, shuddering and slightly swelling while it does so. Upon nearing the player, it will not attack except for the spines it shoots, arcing up but eventually falling down, until the player comes in contact of it. When the player does, they will take a half life cell of damage, and unless they move away from the spine slime, Ori will keep taking damage until they die.

It is possible, though unlikely, for the spine slime to fall or bump into hazards when moving in said pattern. This can be caused by the player bashing it into an area near a hazard.

Spine slimes can be instantly killed in contact with water, spikes, lazers, or other hazards. They can also be killed with three swings of a torch, a smash of a Spirit Smash, a shockwave of a Spirit Smash, one Spike, three slashs of the Spirit Edge, or three arrows of the Spirit Arc, and can be bashed.

The spine slime moves slowly, with an animation like inching forward by stretching out and recoiling, like a snail or slug, but the spines are very fast, arcing up and falling down quicker than other projectiles. Spine slimes do not pose much of a threat, but more of a annoyance, provided that the player is familiar with the controls.

Projectiles deal half a life icon damage each, and cannot be bashed. They leave a trail of purple light wherever they go, but the trail cannot harm Ori.

Spine Slimes yield five to ten Spirit Light upon death.
