"The Spirit Tree sustained the three Elements of Light, and in turn they brought balance and kept Nibel safe."
- Sein to Ori at the Spirit Tree, the initial introduction to the quest.
The Forest of Nibel is an ancient forest that is home to magical wonders and enchanted creatures, such as the Spirit Guardians and the Gumon. Within Nibel is the wise and very powerful Spirit Tree, who brings light to the land through his maintenance of the three Elements of Light.
After the events of the Light Ceremony, Nibel is thrown into jeopardy when the Spirit Tree loses his power and the Elements become corrupted, turning Nibel into the titular blind forest. Ori's journey takes them across the forest in the hopes of restoring it to its former self.
Areas
Nibel is split up into various areas that house different creatures, plant life and challenges for Ori to face. Not all of them can be completely accessed until Ori completes certain sections of the story and some areas can only be visited once before they become inaccessible.
