Floater is a type of enemy in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It only appears in Silent Woods.
Description[]
Floaters are black and orange and have four thin limbs, of which they don't use. The shape of their head is similar to that of a snail's, with the "shell" of the floater being the bloated part of their back.
Behavior[]
Floaters stay in place when idle. Upon sensing Ori, they will slowly drift towards them and when in contact with Ori, explode, destroying themselves in the process. If a floater does not come in contact with Ori after a certain amount of time, they will explode nevertheless. Floaters can evade certain hazards.
Floaters have 26 health, but their explosion can be triggered by any amount of damage, however small. Thus, their "real" health is at least 2 health points. The damage caused by their death explosion is always 16.
Floaters are slow, giving Ori the advantage of speed, but on the other hand can follow Ori to almost everywhere, due to their ability to float. They also render Ori's ability to bash useless, as bash causes them to explode even without damage. Ranged or automated weapons such as Spirit Arc or Sentry are useful against them, as they can stretch out the distance between Ori and the Floater.
Floaters drop 5-10 spirit light upon death.
