Spirit Shrine in Inkwater Marsh

Combat Shrines (or Spirit Shrines) are one of the types of "challenge" shrines, where Ori can fight multiple waves of enemies for various rewards. When completed, the combat shrine will reward you with a Shard Slot Upgrade.
Once activated, the base of the shrine will start to glow, and enemies will emerge from the background. Every time a wave is completed, the shrine will eject around 5 energy shards, and one of the pillars will glow. Once all of the waves are complete the central shrine structure will glow and a Shard Slot Upgrade will appear. The enemies spawned by the shrine will not drop health, energy or spirit light. If the player does not want to continue they can leave the shrine 'arena'. A notification will appear on screen notifying the player that they are leaving, warning them that straying too far will forfeit the shrine attempt.
Ori can complete the Shrines multiple times. There is little reason to do this, as the reward in only a small amount of spirit light. Each shrine is signified by two icons on the map, when completed it is checked off on the map, when incomplete it is a clear and unchecked shrine

- Inkwater Marsh
- The Combat Shrine present in the Inkwater Marsh (Not Howl's Den) is in the far right of the cave below where you meet Opher for the first time.
- Inkwater Marsh: Howl's Den
- The Combat Shrine present in Inkwater Marsh: Howl's Den is directly below the Spirit Well present there, it should be known that in order for you to access it, you need Spirit Smash as it is blocked by a wall only breakable by said Spirit Smash.
- Wellspring Glades
- The Combat Shrine present in the Wellspring Glades is just to the right and above the entrance to the Wellspring, it should be known that you require Grapple in order to reach it.
- Silent Woods
- The Combat Shrine present in the Silent Woods is to the right of where you find Ku's body after she is knocked off of the cliff by Shriek.
- Mouldwood Depths
- The Combat Shrine present in Mouldwood Depths is to the left of the Moki who trades you Mouldwood Silk for an Empty Lantern in the Hand-To-Hand side quest.
