Sand Worm is a type of enemy in Ori and the Will of the Wisps. They can be found in areas with sand.
Description[]
Sandworms resemble red scaled worms, with mouths that have three jaws. They glow yellow in some places, and leave behind a trail similar to that of Ori when they are using Burrow.
Behavior[]
Sand Worms cannot move out of the sand they are in, except for when they are jumping. They will move around aimlessly while idle. Upon sensing Ori, Sand Worms will immediately turn towards them and pursue them until Ori have moved away from the area that the Sand Worm or Worms patrol.
On certain occasions, such as when Ori is right atop of or next to the sand that the Sand Worm resides in, the Sand Worm can jump out of the sand for a brief amount of time, in a way similar to the Burrow Dash. However, it is not possible to make the Sand Worm stay out of the sand for more than the duration or the jump, by using Bash or otherwise. When Sand worms are close enough to Ori, they will lunge forward to bite them/
Ori can get damaged by Sand Worms in any form of contact, except for when they Burrow Dash into the Sand Worm. This will cause 8 points of health to be lost. Sand Worms can be damaged only via Burrow Dash and the shockwave caused by Spirit Smash.
Sand Worms cannot be bashed, except for when they are jumping. However, they will not be affected by the bash in any way. Sand Worms drop 15-20 spirit light upon death.
